‘Kaizen’: continuous, incremental improvement
Have you heard of the word, ‘KAIZEN’?
It’s a Japanese word and business philosophy meaning ‘continuous incremental improvement’.
It rejects the idea of striving for radical overnight change or success, and focuses instead on the small, consistent steps of every person, every day, working together towards the goal. It means holding the ground that has already been taken, and steadily moving forward, together.
Faithful steps of obedience
This is very much our approach — eyes set on the long-term goal, inviting and encouraging everyone to take part, valuing each person as crucial in the process. Not discouraged when things take time, but encouraged to see the continuous, steady movement towards our God-given goal. Small steps to incredible, lasting transformation.
100,000 communities transformed by 2030 might seem like an over-ambitious goal, but as we have taken steps every day towards this, armed with the strength and grace of God, we are seeing it happen!
So be encouraged today! Your small, faithful steps of obedience are yielding great things. Being a world changer doesn’t usually look fancy. It’s as simple as showing up each and every day and taking those small steps forward.
Today we are thankful for you, whom without your partnership, without your faithful steps of obedience, none of what we do would be possible.
What are your dreams? How can the principle of Kaizen be an encouragement to you today?
